Welcome to the world of AEROSPORTS!
Except for a few brave hearts who keep the flag
flying, Aero Sports have all but died out in India. For a country that aims
to put man on the moon within a decade, the lack of an aeronautical culture
is perplexing if not discomfiting. Our objective, therefore, is to
revive aero sports in all its variants and facilitate private ventures or public-private-partnerships
by providing business models as well as specialized knowledge and skills in
order to develop
between 28 to 40 airfields (disused or greenfleld) as dedicated air parks
and to influence India's aviation policy in a manner as to retain and expand
the freedom to use airspace for aero sports.
These airparks would need to be near its catchment areas - primarily the major metros - to build the necessary volumes
for it to be competitively priced and sustainable. There is enough potential to build between four to six airfields for each of the major metros. Each airpark may be
specialized or provide for two or more types of aero sports.
There
is also a need to create manufacturing and MRO hubs to feed
the dependent airparks, although each airpark can potentially opt to operate
as an independent entity by directly importing its aviation assets and
maintenance services or choose to build its own. A national or regional
concentration of such specialized feeder hubs may be more cost effective in the
long run.
There will always be skeptics who will question the need
or feasibility of developing such ventures. Ask them whether they know
the reason why people climb mountains. To most, it is simply "because it is
there". Aero sports, like any other sport, calls for discipline,
technique and years of study and practice to perfect. It is intellectually
stimulating, physically
demanding and for those being initiated into the sport for the first time,
entails a huge leap of faith. Apart from the sheer thrill, the adrenaline
rush, the spirit and the sense of adventure, the sport
builds discipline, tenacity, team spirit, camaraderie, character and the ability to take measured risk. Besides,
aero sports are an internationally recognized form of sports where India has
had little or no representation. There is no reason why we should continue
to remain on the sidelines in the comity of aeronautical nations.
If
you are a business owner or investor or even an enthusiast who can bring in
specialized knowledge or skills in one or more of the related domains and
wish to participate
in developing such a venture do contact us. We would love the opportunity to
work with you.
